Pumps are the second most critical component in any fountain application (The basin or pool being most critical). The pump is the heart of the project, and needs to be sized accordingly. Too little pump, and the desired affect of your project will never be achieved; Too big of a pump, and you'll be forced into bleeding off some of the water pressure or restricting the pumps output. Too much restriction of a pumps output could lead to pre-mature pump failure.
Pump curve: The amount of water (gpm/gph) produced by a pump at a given back pressure (psi/head pressure) applied to the pumps discharge.
Typically higher pressure on a pump's discharge = reduced flow from the discharge.
Although there are many different pumps available on the market today, our systems utilize pumps from a few select companies who's products have proven themselves dependable in fountain applications throughout our 20 + years of operations.
From 80 gallons an hour (table top fountains) up to and through 900 gallons a minute (waterfall pumps) we've got you covered.

Lighting is often the most overlooked component in any project. When designing your fountain please keep in mind that most private fountains are enjoyed mainly during the evening hours.
Lighting fixtures (like pumps) are also available in many shapes, sizes, voltages, and wattage's. What's the right choice for your project? There's no wrong answer, lighting is a personal touch that can only be expressed by the person designing the fountain. We can say that for soft accent lighting, low voltage systems seem to work better.
All of these lights are UL approved and have colored lenses available. (some are included)

Adding a spray ring to a tiered fountain creates a very unique result both in sight and sound. By design, the water flow of Tiered Fountains lose their dynamics from the top bowl to the bottom bowl. It's not that the water flow has been reduced, it's simply the result of having more surface area to cover on the bigger bowls. By simply adding a quad ring to the system, you now have the ability to spray additional water up into the bottom bowl to increase its water flow back down into the pool.
Spray rings from Custom Fountains Inc. are of copper and brass construction. There is no limit to the sizes and configurations available.
On a typical spray ring the brass nozzles (all nozzles are adjustable to 15 degrees off axis) are spaced 2.5" apart. On custom rings we can space them down to as little as1" apart to as far apart as your project requires.
| Our four standard
nozzle sizes are: #1's) .093 - (3/32") #2's) .125 - (1/8") #3's) .172 - (11/64") #4's) .156 - (5/32") With orifice sizes available up to 1" diameter. |

Our smallest diameter ring is 18" and made with 3/4" ID. copper pipe. Our typical rings are made with 1.5" ID. copper pipe but are available in pipe diameters up to 3". Rings are also available in Red Brass up to 3" ID.

Pictured here is a single 1.25" id. copper spray ring 24" inches in diameter with 30 nozzles (typical 2.5" spacing). . Not pictured here are the control valves the allow you to govern the flow of water into the ring which determines how high the fountain will spray. Rings can be made in any diameter, and we can space the nozzles as far apart as you'd like, or as close as 1.5". |

Pictured here is our G-2 ring assembly it has 2 outer rings (18" and 24") and a center 3/8" smooth bore nozzle complete with manifold and control valves. It also is 1.25" copper piping and has the individual nozzles that will pivot 15 degrees off axis. This assembly can produce up to 14 different water patterns. |
| Pictured here is a quad ring assembly which is primarily used to pump additional water into the bottom bowl of a tiered fountain to produce a heavier water flow off of the bottom bowl back to the fountain. It has 5 control valves on it which enables you to determine how much water comes out each of the nozzles, and how much water goes to the top of the fountain. During operation only the nozzles are above the waterline. |
| Pedestals | The use of pedestals with your Tiered Fountain enables you to get the base of your fountain up above the water line. You can extend the base as far up out of the water as you'd like, but having the base fully submerged may not be aesthetically desirable. You can simply stack some block or other solid media to create a pedestal, or you may purchase a fiberglass pedestal from us. The fiberglass shapes and sizes are unlimited. |
| Fiberglass Pools | Fiberglass pools are self supporting and require no backfill or additional support. We manufacture over 90 different standard fiberglass pools and if you're looking for a pool that's not one of our standards, we can fabricate custom pools of any shape or size to suite your needs or project. |
| Components | When designing fountains, more often than not the only considerations are for the pool (basin) and the fountain piece. There are other available components that can cut down on maintenance times, and improve the quality of the installation. Here are just a few components that can dramatically improve your fountain experience: Automatic water fill devices, Junction boxes (for inside the pool electrical connections), Overflow drainpipe assemblies |
